Taking Social Responsibility

There is more to ScotRail than just running train services across Scotland.

At ScotRail, we strive to carefully consider the needs of our communities whilst helping to create a more sustainable environment. Our Corporate Social Responsibility approach will shape our future plans for continuous improvement and growth, allowing us to fulfil our objective towards A Better Way to Be. Our approach looks further than just running trains across Scotland. We are passionate about the services we provide but recognise that being a responsible business is about investing in partnerships with local communities, helping to improve the environment, creating a motivated and inspired workforce, and being passionate and caring towards our customers and our people.

We aspire to be visible in communities across the network and aim to help them by offering time, resources and funding. The creation of the ScotRail Foundation allows local community groups to apply for grants up to £5,000 to assist with development projects. Last year, the ScotRail Foundation contributed to 51 community groups and 18 staff selected charities, donating a total of £100,000. We also have a range of charitable schemes and projects, including Adopt A Station, Keep Scotland Beautiful, Community Rail Partnerships and many more. Further information on our charity partnerships and projects can be found in the Our Community section.
