Introduction

Club 55

Club 55 is a flat fare promotion available to those aged 55 or over.

The promotion offers great value for off peak travel and is available from time to time each year.

The ticket can be purchased via the following channels:

The ticket is restricted to Off-Peak travel. However, other changes can be introduced

Senior Railcard and Disabled Railcard holders who are 55 or over receive a further discount.

Advance

Advance is ScotRail's official loyalty club and is free to join.

The scheme is currently open to those customers who purchase Season Tickets, Flexipass, First Class and Caledonian Sleeper tickets, excluding Bargain Berth customers.

The scheme currently has around 34,000 live members.

Members receive regular newsletters and emails which contain a range of rail as well as non-rail partnership deals and is provided in recognition of the custom we already get from these customers. In addition to newsletter benefits, members can also:

  1. Access all ScotRail First Class Lounges on presentation of their membership card along with a valid ticket for travel.
  2. Get free upgrades to First Class accommodation at weekends.
  3. Access a members priority booking and information telephone line

Customers can join either:

  1. By completing and sending off the application form included within our Sleeper and Commuting Ticket Guides, available from all staffed stations.
  2. Online

Customers will then receive a Membership Pack containing their membership card, which should be retained by the customer.

Kids Go Free

Up to two children aged between five and 15 can travel free with each adult who purchases a Kids Go Free ticket.

  2. Available off-peak all week, all year round - even in the school holidays.
  3. No need to book in advance.
  4. Free entry for kids at some of Scotland's top attractions.

When can I travel?

  1. You can travel anytime at the weekend and on off-peak trains Monday to Friday.
  2. Outward and return travel must be made on the same day.
  3. All members of the group must travel together on both the outward and return journey.
  4. Off-peak generally means after 9.15am (9.00am for journeys in Strathclyde) with some additional restrictions in the evening peak. Restrictions may apply on other operators' services. Please check before travelling.

Which routes can I travel on?

Available for Standard Class travel on all routes in Scotland and on all operators' services.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds and changes to travel plans are available, subject to a £10 administration fee on unused tickets surrendered before the date of outward travel.
