MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO …. EDINBURGH
Thursday 10 December 2009
A new late night service from Glasgow Central to Edinburgh will be launched on 18 December.
The Friday “night” service will leave Glasgow Central at six minutes after midnight – which is some 36 minutes later than the last train to Edinburgh from Glasgow Queen Street.
Calling at Cambuslang, Uddingston, Bellshill, Holytown, Carfin, Cleland, Hartwood, Shotts, Fauldhouse, Addiewell, West Calder, Livingston South, the train will arrive at Edinburgh Waverley at 01.23 on Saturday mornings.
Steve Montgomery, ScotRail’s managing director, said: “Customers told us they would like to be able to catch a later train home. We’re delighted to be able to offer this new service every Friday night - particularly as more people are out and about for Christmas parties.”
The late night service is a further boost for customers who travel Glasgow Central to Edinburgh via Shotts. A new hourly service begins on Monday, December 14.
