Around 35 miles from Glasgow City Centre, Prestwick International Airport has its own train station, Prestwick International, which is linked to the airport by a walkway. The station is on the Glasgow Central to Ayr route, and discounted train tickets are available with the relevant flight documentation.

To get your free or 50% discounted rail tickets to and from the airport, you’ll need to show your required documentation at a ScotRail Booking Office – your flight ticket, your original invoice (photocopies will not be accepted) or your downloaded booking e.g. from internet, plus photo ID (e-mail confirmation not acceptable).
Discounted tickets are also available for purchase on the train, but only if you are joining at a station where there is no ticket issuing facility available. They are also not available online, from ScotRail telesales or from Travel Agents.
