Rail customers in Scotland will shortly be able to plan journeys and book train tickets direct from their iGoogle personalised homepage.
ScotRail has become one of the first UK rail operators to develop an iGoogle ‘gadget’ – a special application that provides a direct link to ScotRail’s journey planning and online booking pages.
It can be downloaded by customers free of charge from 13 December. They can then search for journey details straight from their home screen, and go on to purchase tickets via our website.
Graeme Macfarlan, ScotRail’s marketing manager, said, “This a simple application, but can save people time by providing swift access to the ticket information they need, as well as a direct online purchasing facility.”
“The gadget works in the same way as similar applications available to iPhone users, which are becoming increasingly popular. By teaming up with iGoogle, we hope to reach an even wider audience within Scotland.”
