Timetable changes to services between Alloa and Glasgow
24 September 2008
First ScotRail is advising customers travelling from Alloa Station that some services will be retimed from Monday 29 September.
This is to allow for changes that have been made to freight train services following the opening of the Stirling – Alloa – Kincardine line in May 2008, which included track to Longannet Power Station.
Some passenger services to and from Alloa Station between Mondays and Saturdays will depart up to five minutes earlier, with others departing a couple of minutes later. Service punctuality will be improved as a result of less congestion on the line from freight trains.
The majority of the minor timetable changes are outwith peak times. Examples include -
• The 1041 Alloa to Glasgow Queen Street service will depart at 1038
• The 1341 Alloa to Glasgow Queen Street service will depart at 1336
• The 1618 Glasgow Queen Street to Alloa service will arrive at Alloa at 1719 and not 1717
Sunday services times will remain unchanged.
Peter Williams, commercial director at First ScotRail said, “Whilst the timetable changes are minimal, some trains will now depart earlier and we are therefore keen to ensure that our customers are fully informed so they can arrive in time to catch their usual service.”
Posters and revised timetables are available at staffed stations and timetable information can also be found at www.firstscotrail.com.
