UP FOR THE WORLD CUP WITH SCOTRAIL

Wednesday 2 September 2009

ScotRail is ready for the crucial double header World Cup qualifiers at Hampden.

It is providing extra trains for the Scotland game against Macedonia on Saturday afternoon and for the match against Holland next Wednesday night.

ScotRail is advising football fans and regular customers to allow plenty of time for their journeys – and to buy their tickets in advance - because trains will be busier than normal.

Saturday 5 September - Scotland v Macedonia
There will be more carriages on Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Inverness services before and after the game - and additional trains and seats to and from Mount Florida.

Wednesday 9 September - Scotland v Holland
Extra trains will be provided along with more carriages on scheduled services to and from Mount Florida before and after the match.

Queuing systems will be in place at key stations before and after both matches, and additional staff will be on hand to assist.

A ban on the consumption of alcohol will be in place, overseen by British Transport Police.
