Travel Connections

Our aim is to make your journey as simple as possible. Whether your trip is on one train only, involves travelling on several connecting trains, or involves using other modes of transport before or after your train journey, we want your trip to be both pleasant and hassle free.

Many journeys across the ScotRail network can be completed using just one train, but there are many other possibilities by changing trains en route - for example if you want to travel from Edinburgh to Oban, you would normally need to make one simple change of train in Glasgow. Yet more possibilities are opened up by the extensive bus and ferry network across Scotland, allowing you access to places many miles beyond the rail network.

We work closely with bus and ferry operators to provide combined tickets for many of the most common rail and bus/ferry journeys across Scotland. If you've arrived in town by train and plan to be be travelling only around the local area, then there may well be a PlusBus ticket to suit you. Or, if the bike is your mode of choice for travel to and from the station, you'll see that we can help there too, with cycle storage available at virtually every ScotRail station. We also have some great discounts on cycle hire for ScotRail customers. Read on and you'll see what we're doing to make your entire journey run as smoothly as possible.
