ScotRail has installed a new self-service ticket machine at Aviemore station giving customers even quicker access to a variety of tickets.

As well as offering card and contactless payments, the new machine offers a range of season tickets, and tickets for journeys up to 28 days in advance.

Customers also have the option of buying tickets for their smartcard at home and loading them on to the card with a quick tap at the machine before they travel.

The machine is equipped with sensitive touch screen technology, and the bright screen can be easily read in direct sunlight.

The state-of-the-art device is part of a continued investment by the ScotRail Alliance – a partnership between ScotRail and Network Rail Scotland - in improving station facilitates.

ScotRail Regional Customer Operations Manager Fiona Campbell said:

“Travelling by train should be simple. Our customers are increasingly looking for the convenience of ‘self-serve’ ways to buy their tickets - that’s why we’ve installed this easy to use machine.

“Whether customers are buying their ticket or loading their smartcard, the new state-of-the-art ticket machine will improve our customers’ experience.

“This investment will make travelling easier for our customers – it’s part of our commitment to improving station facilities across the country.”
