Save 10% on youth hostel accommodation when you travel by rail

ScotRail passengers can now claim 10% off their youth hostel accommodation when booking it online.

In this joint venture, ScotRail has linked with the Scottish Youth Hostelling Association (SYHA) to give rail passengers discounted accommodation in any of Scotland’s hostels. These hostels offer affordable accommodation for travellers and, as well as city locations, many of them are in Scotland’s scenic locations. Even those in more outlying areas are often situated close to railway stations and it’s hoped that this offer will encourage travellers to extend their stay and explore more of Scotland.

Hostelling is popular with both UK and overseas visitors looking for value and adventure. And it’s not just reserved for ‘youths’ either – hostellers can be people travelling independently or families and groups of all ages.

Bookings can be made online at www.syha.org.uk

Alasdair Smart, ScotRail’s tourism manager said: “This is a great offer which links good value travel with affordable accommodation. We hope that our customers will take up the offer and get out and about around Scotland this summer.”

Keith Legge, CEO from SYHA echoed Alasdair’s comments: “We’re delighted to work in partnership with ScotRail and very much hope to see many new guests and visitors over the coming months.

“Travelling by train can lead you to some of the key destinations in Scotland such as Glasgow for the vibrant music scene and free attractions, Inverness or one of the remotest locations at Loch Ossian, by Corrour station, where you are surrounded by mountains, wildlife and quiet.”
