ScotRail Alliance issues travel advice for Stirling Marathon

Last updated: Tuesday, 24 April 2018

The ScotRail Alliance has issued travel advice ahead of the Stirling Marathon on Sunday 29 April 2018.

Customers are being advised to plan their journey in advance and to consider their travel options.

Major improvement and track renewal work taking place between Perth and Larbert on Sunday 29 April mean buses will replace trains between Glasgow Queen Street / Falkirk Grahamston and Perth.

However, due to road closures during the Stirling Marathon, ScotRail is unable to provide any replacement transport to or from Bridge of Allan until 3.30pm.

Customers travelling from Dunblane station will board a mini shuttle bus service from the police station on Perth Road to Daniel Street (Perth Road), to connect with larger replacement buses for onward travel.

ScotRail will have extra staff at the station, as well as the replacement bus stops to help customers.

ScotRail Alliance Head of Customer Experience Graham Heald said:

“We’re doing everything we can to keep people moving during the Stirling Marathon while we carry out these vital improvement works.

“A shuttle bus will connect customers with the replacement buses in Dunblane, however road closures mean that we won’t be able to provide any transport in Bridge of Allan until after the race finishes.

“Make sure to check your journey on our website or mobile app and if you are heading out, leave plenty of time for travel as journey times will be extended.”
