The ScotRail Alliance is advising those heading to see Robbie Williams at Murrayfield on Friday 9 June to leave plenty of time for their journeys.
Concert-goers are warned that trains towards Edinburgh on Friday evening will be busier than normal, and are encouraged to head through earlier where possible. Those travelling from Glasgow may wish to use alternative routes from Queen Street via Bathgate, and from Central via Shotts.
Following the end of the gig, a queueing system will be in place at Haymarket station and extra staff will be on hand to assist. The last trains of the evening will have additional capacity, however, fans are being encouraged to go straight to the station when the concert ends to avoid disappointment.
Anyone travelling home the following day should be aware that services will be very busy with football supporters heading to the Scotland v England World Cup qualifier taking place at Hampden Park.
A ScotRail Alliance spokesperson said: “We all know that Robbie Williams is going to be the hottest ticket of the weekend, but don’t forget your train tickets. Please buy your ticket in advance – not on the day.
“After the end of the gig, please head straight to the station, as the last trains of the night will be very busy and connections are not guaranteed.”
