Travel advice for Stone Roses at Hampden

Last updated: Wednesday, 21 June 2017

Hampden Park plays host to The Stone Roses on Saturday 24 June, and ScotRail is reminding customers travelling to the concert by train that services will be busier than normal.

ScotRail will be adding additional carriages to services between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida – the closest station to Hampden Park.

Queuing systems will be in place at Glasgow Central before the concert, and at Mount Florida station afterwards. Fans are also being advised to head back to Mount Florida as fast as possible after the event finishes and join the queues on Bolton Drive.

To help customers arrive at the concert on time, they should allow extra time for travel – as well as purchasing tickets in advance to avoid additional queuing on the day. Tickets are available from staffed stations, telesales on 0344 811 0141, and via the ScotRail mobile app or website.

A ScotRail Alliance spokesman said: “We’re looking forward to helping fans travel by train to see The Stone Roses this weekend.

“Our advice to customers is to make sure you’re aware of your travel options for both legs of your journey and, if possible, leave extra time for your journey as trains are likely to be busier than normal. Buying tickets in advance will also help reduce your queuing time.”

As with most special events, ScotRail will have extra staff on the ground to assist customers.
