Latest update on Troon station and train services

Last updated: Monday, 19 July 2021

Following the serious fire at Troon station on Saturday, 17 July, ScotRail is advising customers will not be able to travel by train from Glasgow Central to Ayr until Friday, 23 July at the earliest.

Services from Glasgow Central to Ayr will start and terminate at Kilwinning.

Replacement bus transport will be provided from Tuesday, 20 July, however, customers should check their journey on the ScotRail app or ScotRail's social media channels before setting out.

To allow for physical distancing, space on the replacement buses will be limited.

Work to make the fire-damaged areas of the Troon station building safe is underway and this will allow for engineers to complete safety checks on the overhead lines, platforms, and the track.

Glasgow – Largs / Ardrossan services are running normally.
