Christmas and New Year train times

Monday, 18 November 2019

We'll keep you moving throughout the festive season, although train times will be different from normal over Christmas and New Year.

We're adding extra carriages to many trains to and from Glasgow and Edinburgh in the lead up to Christmas, including East Kilbride, Kilmarnock, Cumbernauld, Inverclyde, Helensburgh, Lanark, Fife, Perth, Dundee, and the Borders.

Last trains of the day will depart earlier than normal on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and there will be changes to train times over the Christmas and New Year period.

As with previous years, no trains will run on Christmas Day or New Year's Day.

Network Rail are carrying out vital engineering work near Haymarket between Friday 27 and Sunday 29 December. This means services on several routes to and from Edinburgh will start and terminate before reaching the capital city.

If you're planning to travel to the Edinburgh area on these dates, please consider making alternative arrangements, particularly on Saturday, 28 December.

Plan your festive journey here or scroll down for last train times and changes to timetables.

Services will run as normal until around 8pm, when services will begin to wind down. Use the drop downs to see the time of the last train on each route.
