Discover Abbotsford, the striking home of Sir Walter Scott; one of Scotland’s most famous writers. It’s a great day out for families – enjoy the dedicated family audio tour, follow the outdoor play trail, and wander the beautiful gardens. The family-friendly café has a great selection of food for when you’ve exhausted the kids.
Created almost 200 years ago on the banks of the River Tweed in the Scottish Borders, Abbotsford was the culmination of Scott’s creative ambitions as a writer and the font of his inspiration.
A free mini bus runs from Tweedbank Station until 31 October or it’s a pretty one mile walk to the House. Please check on Abbotsford House website for the most up to date information on the mini bus service.
