Our annual folk festival is back in 2020. A weekend of live concerts featuring award-wining bands and artists, combined with sessions, workshops and open mics offering a showcase for local talent. This year there are five great concerts to catch. On the Friday night we have Brighde Chaimbeul, a superb Scottish small pipes player from Skye (BBC Folk awards 2019 Horizon winner) who plays hauntingly beautiful melodies, and a five-piece band fronted by the only ever three-time winner of Scots Singer of the Year, Siobhan Miller.
On Saturday there is a lunchtime concert featuring some of the best of Scottish Borders talent, and an afternoon display of Irish dancing by Absolutely Legless and their band of musicians. Our Saturday evening evening concert features the legendary Martin and Eliza Carthy and a new group on the scene, The Cobhers fronted by multiinstrumentalist Luke Daniels. The weekend closes with a Sunday lunchtime concert given by the singer, harpist and composer Corrina Hewat.
