Black Moon Botanica
Black Moon Botanica is an independent retailer of herbal remedies, esoteric art and literature, crystals and tarot, situated just doors down from the famous Greyfriars Kirk. The shop also boasts a wide variety of all-natural, beautifully scented handmade candles, with owner Brooke 'bringing candlemaking back to its original home from the 1600s'. Established in 2019, the Botanica has quickly become a must-visit for any fan of the occult and the magical.
The Black Watch Castle and Museum
The Black Watch Museum is housed in the historic Balhouise Castle. The origins of the Castle are said to date back to the 12th century. The museum tells the story of the iconic Black Watch Regiment, Scotland’s Premier Highland Regiment. The Castle gift shop offers a wide range of products from handpicked Scottish gifts to regimental mementos. The café serves fresh locally sourced produce. The venue also offers after hours private dining, exclusive use of the Castle alongside group and bespoke tours.
Blackford Hill Local Nature Reserve

Blair Athol Distillery
Half a mile from Pitlochry town centre lies the Blair Athol distillery, one of the oldest still operating in Scotland. Originally constructed in 1798, it was acquired by Arthur Bell & Sons in 1933 although it remained unused for years, until it was rebuilt in the period immediately following the Second World War.

The Book Nook opened in 2020 as a few friends followed their dreams of running an independent bookstore. As well as selling new and second hand books, this inclusive, cosy space has community at its heart with special events from book clubs to trivia nights; with a café serving delectable goods, what's not to love?

Books & Beans is a modern, colourful second hand bookshop, which turns the dusty stereotype on its head. Downstairs, Aberdeen's first independent Fair Trade café offers freshly made soups, salads and sandwiches as well as great coffee. Broughty Castle Museum
Sitting at the mouth of the River Tay, Broughty Castle was built in 1496 on a rocky promontory. It has a long and chequered history.
The museum housed within the castle houses displays detailing the life and times of the nearby town, its people and the surrounding wildlife. From the top of the castle tower there are fantastic views over the river. It is located very close to Broughty Ferry Beach and Esplanade and features a changing programme of events, activities and displays.
