To buy a 26-30 Railcard you need to visit the Railcard website and fill in the application. To make your application you will need a valid debit or credit card, proof of eligibility such as your passport, UK driving licence or an identity card and a passport style photo. You can take the passport style photo with your phone. Usually, your Railcard is available to download and use straight away.

To use your 26-30 Railcard you must always be able to show it when you travel to get the 1/3 off discount. To buy your discounted train tickets you can book online or through the ScotRail app, selecting the Railcard option. You can also buy from a booking office or from a ticket vending machine in a station.
You can only buy your ticket on the train if there are no ticket facilities at your departure station. If it is possible to buy a ticket from your departure station you will not be able to use your Railcard on the train and you will have to pay the full fare.
