Club 55 will run from 16 January until 31 March 2012 and you can travel as many times as you like within this period.

To get this great deal, all you need to do is provide proof that you’re 55 or over. It really is that easy!

Club 55

  • Standard Class travel between any two stations in Scotland for only £19 return.
  • It is also valid for travel from most stations in Scotland to and from Carlisle or Berwick-upon-Tweed.
  • Club 55 is not subject to availability and does not need to be booked in advance.

Club 55 Premier

  • If you want a touch of added luxury, Club 55 Premier lets you travel First Class for only £26 return on the following routes:
    • Aberdeen and Inverness
    • Aberdeen and Edinburgh/Glasgow
    • Inverness and Edinburgh/Glasgow
  • To ensure the comfort of your trip, Club 55 Premier must be booked in advance and is subject to availability.

Are there any restrictions?

Monday to Friday you can travel on all services except:

  • Those arriving into Glasgow Queen Street, Glasgow Central, Edinburgh Waverley, Haymarket, Dundee or Aberdeen before 0930.
  • Those departing Glasgow Queen Street, Glasgow Central, Edinburgh Waverley or Haymarket between 1642 and 1809.
  • The 1815 Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow Queen Street and 1815 Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley services.

At the weekend, you can travel on all services except:

  • East Coast services on Sundays between Aberdeen and Edinburgh, in both directions, including intermediate stations.

Busy dates to avoid

Wherever you decide to go with Club 55, when planning your journey, please note that there are a number of major sporting events throughout January and February.  Trains on these dates should be avoided as they will be very busy and seating cannot be guaranteed.

Glasgow: Please avoid travelling to and from Glasgow on 28 and 29 January as there are football matches at Hampden.

Edinburgh: Please avoid travelling to and from Edinburgh on 4 and 26 February as there are major rugby matches at Murrayfield.
