Rail travel and cycling are both environmentally friendly forms of transport, so we're keen to promote journeys using both options.
Nearly all ScotRail stations have cycle parking facilities, and cycle lockers are provided at many train stations. To see what's available at your station, check our station facilities page.
We won’t charge you to take your bike on our trains. However, availability is subject to space and, in some cases, to a cycle reservation. And we’ve arranged discounted cycle hire for rail travellers at various locations across Scotland.
Our Cycle Rescue Service provides peace of mind to cyclists who hold a valid rail ticket. And as well as that, we keep up to date with cycling groups through our regular Cycling Forums.
For full details of our cycle policy, and arrangements for taking bikes on ScotRail trains (including Caledonian sleepers to and from London Euston) take a look at our Connections Guide.
