This year of Homecoming sees the return of the Open to Scotland with the 138th Open Championship being held at Turnberry, set to welcome golf fans from across the world between Wednesday 15 and Sunday 19 July.
We have created a special ticket to take you straight to the heart of the action. Called GolfLink, the ticket provides all-inclusive train travel to Girvan and a Stagecoach bus link to the course. Simple, but brilliant. GolfLink is available for travel only during the dates of The Open.
There will be an increased train service during the championship – so the only driving you need to think about will be action on the course! In fact, travelling to The Open by train is more fitting than you might realise because the arrival of the railway introduced golf to Turnberry. The Glasgow and South Western Railway Company built the original luxury hotel and golf course in the early 20th century. They had grand ideas for Turnberry, employing none other than Willie Fernie, the 1883 Open Champion, to lay the course.

Before You Go
There are a few things worth noting before you set off. The first and most important is to buy your GolfLink ticket in advance – the sooner the better.
• Many stations within the network will be particularly busy during The Open and as a result queuing systems may be in operation.
• No seat reservations are available on trains to Girvan, so please arrive at the station in plenty of time.
• Mobile phones can distract players and are not permitted within the pay gates at the event.
