Introduction

The Scottish Government introduced a Just Transition Framework towards a net-zero economy, which include the agri-food system. This transition aims to support more sustainable forms of agricultural production and the creation of more localised food supply chains. This should be key at tackling the imminent climate crisis and contributing to the community-wealth building of rural agricultural communities. Just Transition is about leaving no one behind.

This workshop will be a space to share knowledge, concerns, and connections within the agri-food community to give a clear community-led and bottom-up approach to a Just Transition in the food system; what does it mean for Moray's agrarian and rural communities and how is that to be accomplished? How can we create more localised food supply and what type of funding, infrastructure, or collaboration is necessary to support a more localised and environmentally friendly agri-food economy?
