Glasgow Stations Bus Link

ScotRail operates the Glasgow station bus link, connecting the city’s three main transport hubs – Glasgow Central, Glasgow Queen St and Buchanan Bus Station – with our new zero emissions buses.

The service operates up to every 12 minutes, as shown below:

Day Frequency
Monday to Friday Every 12 minutes 08:00-18:00, every 20 minutes 18:00-20:00
Saturday Every 12 minutes 09:00-18:00, every 20 minutes 18:00-20:00
Sunday Every 20 minutes 12:00-18:00*

*Service starts from 1000 from first Sunday in June to last Sunday in September

Travel is free to holders of a valid rail ticket, SPT Zonecard or a Scottish Government Concession Pass – just show your ticket or pass to the driver on boarding. Anyone else can also use the bus, on payment of the £1.50 fare to the driver or £0.75 child fare.

ScotRail branded electric bus waiting outside Central station.

If you are making a rail journey involving a transfer between Central and Queen St, this service is ideal to help your interchange go smoothly – especially if you are carrying heavy luggage or have any problems with mobility.

Some examples of cross-Glasgow journeys where the bus link can help you on your way include:

  • Paisley to Perth
  • Oban to Dumfries
  • Greenock to Edinburgh

Look out for the bus on your next journey - bus stops are located under the Gordon St canopy for Glasgow Central, on West George St for Glasgow Queen Street, and on Killermont St for Buchanan Bus Station.
