An Annual Season Ticket brings great savings and benefits
If you know you’re going to be taking the same train journey regularly over the year, you can enjoy savings with an Annual Season Ticket.
An Annual Season Ticket will save you precious time because you’ll never need to waste time queueing for tickets. For extra convenience and security, your Season Ticket can be added to your Smartcard. Meaning if you lose your ticket, it can be replaced onto a new Smartcard and you won’t lose any journeys.
An Annual Season Ticket puts you in control of when you travel. There are no restrictions so can be used throughout the day and over the weekend too, and you can add a Kids for a Quid ticket when you take the little ones along too.
If you’re not travelling the whole route every time, your Annual Season Ticket lets you break up the journey by travelling to intermediate stations along your route.
Take a look below to see if an Annual Season Ticket could help you save each year:

Paper Annual Season tickets are valid on all operators’ services. Smartcard Season Tickets are valid on ScotRail and LNER services.
Should I get a daily ticket or a Season Ticket?
Due to the Off-Peak fares all day long trial, we've designed a Season Ticket Calculator to allow customers who travel by train regularly on the same route to compare the cost of a daily return ticket to the cost of a Season Ticket. This will help you find the best-value rail ticket to suit your needs.
By telling us the number of days you plan to travel per week, and the length of ticket you want to commit to, we can calculate the best value tickets for your journey from the following:
- Anytime Day Return
- Weekly Season
- Monthly Season
- Annual Season
Where there are no Anytime Day Return fares available, the Calculator will only return the Season Tickets for that journey.
