Super Off-Peak Day Return tickets are available on more than 300 journeys across Scotland so it’s always worth checking your journey on Journey Planner or the ScotRail App before you travel to see if one of these super tickets could save you money.
When can you use a Super Off-Peak Day Return ticket?
For the majority of journeys, you can travel outbound and return anytime after 11:00, Monday to Friday with your Super Off-Peak Day Return ticket.
If Edinburgh Waverley, Haymarket, Glasgow Central, Glasgow Queen Street, Aberdeen or Inverness is the start point of your journey in either direction, you can only use a Super Off-Peak Day Return ticket on services starting between 11:00 and 14:59, and after 20:00, Monday to Friday.
A Super Off-Peak Day Return ticket is a great way to save on your train fare if you fancy heading into town for an evening out!

Super Off-Peak Day Return tickets are only available on Smartcard or as an mTicket on your mobile device. They’re not available as paper tickets. Find out more about mTickets here .

Travel times
For most journeys, Super Off-Peak tickets are valid for travel anytime after 11:00, Monday to Friday. If Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen is your starting point, you can only travel between 11:00 and 14:59, and after 20:00, Monday to Friday.
Free child travel
Children under the age of five travel for free on all ScotRail services. Half price tickets for children aged 5 to 15. Kids for a Quid ticket is not available with Super Off-Peak Day Returns.

Return travel
You must return on the same day as your outward journey.
Buying your ticket
Buy in advance or on the day of your journey.
Seat reservations
There’s no reserved seating on most ScotRail services. You can reserve a seat for some longer journeys up to 12 weeks before you travel.
First class upgrade
No upgrades available with Super Off-Peak Day Returns.
Railcard discounts
Yes, with all national railcards for standard class travel. Club 50 members cannot get discounts on Super Off-Peak Day Returns.
