Swapping five standard day return tickets for a Weekly Season Ticket, could save you 20% off the cost! Better still, you can use your Season Ticket at any time of the day, including weekends, with no restrictions. It’s convenient and flexible, eliminating the need to buy a ticket each time you travel. You can even break up your journey by travelling to intermediate stations along your route.
Plus, when you travel Off-Peak, you can add a Kids for a Quid ticket when a child travels with you.

Buying and renewing your Weekly Train Ticket
You can buy and renew your weekly train ticket online, with the ScotRail app, via a ticket vending machine, or at a ticket office. If you have one of our free Smartcards, you can simply load your ticket to it every time you buy one. You will need to supply a photo, which can be taken with your smartphone, should you wish to obtain a new Smartcard.
Paper Season Tickets require a photocard, which is free from ScotRail booking offices and travel centres. You just need to take along a passport sized photo.
Paper Weekly Season Tickets are valid on all operators’ services. Smartcard Season Tickets are valid on ScotRail and LNER services.
You can buy your new Weekly Season Ticket in advance or on your first day of travel. Online purchases must be made at least four hours before you travel.
Lost your Weekly Season Ticket?
If your Season Ticket is on a Smartcard and you lose your card, your ticket will be cancelled and securely transferred onto a new one.

There is a 50% discount for 16-18 year-olds with a Young Scot National Entitlement Card, and for children aged 5-15 when Season Tickets are bought at a ScotRail ticket office.

It gives you unlimited travel, and also works on most buses and some ferries. You can use your ZoneCard wherever you see the ZoneCard logo.
