We’ve picked out a selection of events that are sure to put a spring in your step this March.

Showcasing a variety of festivals, theatre shows and music acts, all happening across Scotland this month, there’s something for everyone. All events are within a 15-minute-walk from the nearest station.

The Rocky Horror Show, Edinburgh

The Rocky Horror Show celebrates its 50th anniversary with an international production directed by Christopher Luscombe from 13 to 18 March at the Edinburgh Playhouse. The Playhouse is less than 10 minutes’ walk from Waverley Station.

Glasgow Film Festival

Glasgow Film Festival returns for its 19th year, featuring old classics as well as new favourites. It features both established and recently discovered talent across an array of genres including horror, drama, comedy and romance. Bringing back its ‘special events’ section for the first time in years, the GFF includes some fan favourites such as ‘So I Married an Axe Murderer’ and a surprise film. The festival takes place from 1 to 12 March at Glasgow Film Theatre, Cineworld, Glee Club and the CCA. All venues are less than 15 minutes’ walk from Glasgow Queen Street station.

Comic Con Scotland, Aberdeen

P&J Live in Aberdeen is set to host this year’s Monopoly Events Comic Con Scotland on 18 and 19 March. Meet fellow like-minded fans to argue about your favourite characters and shows, and get the chance to meet and greet your favourite actors, including Seth Gilliam from The Walking Dead, two previous Doctors: Colin Baker and Peter Davison, as well as Grace Van Dien from the phenomenally popular Stranger Things. P&J Live is only a 15 minute walk from Dyce train station.

Jon Richardson: The Knitwit, Dundee and Aberdeen

Jon Richardson comes to stage with his stand-up act The Knitwit. Jon is best known for his role as team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and for his show Ultimate Worrier. Jon will be appearing in Dundee on 11 March at Caird Hall and on 12 March at Music Hall in Aberdeen, and both venues are just 6 minutes’ walk from their respective stations.

Roald Dahl's The three little pigs
Roald Dahl’s The Three Little Pigs, Dundee

The 20-piece Essential Orchestra returns to Caird Hall with an updated version of ‘Roald Dahl’s The Three Little Pigs’. Using Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes poem as their inspiration, Children's Classic Concerts brings exciting twists to the experience, such as fun costumes and the chance to sing along. The show is taking place at Caird Hall in Dundee on Sunday 26 March and the Music Hall in Aberdeen on 19 March, both venues are only a 6 minute walk from the station.

Step into the light. Where musical theatre meets circus. Cirque the greatest show.
Cirque: The Greatest Show, Inverness

Cirque: The Greatest Show has an incredible line-up of aerialists, contortionists and musical acts performing some of the West End’s most iconic songs from Moulin Rouge, Hairspray, Rocket Man and The Greatest Showman. The show takes place on 9 and 10 March at Eden Court which is only 12 minutes’ walk from Inverness train station.

Reach out for the magic of motown
The Magic of Motown

The Magic of Motown comes to Rothes Hall with a soundtrack filled with hits from the likes of Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, The Temptations, and The Supremes. Back this year with their new show, ‘Reach Out’, The Magic of Motown offers an evening of glitz with outstanding costumes and dance routines to match their upbeat tempos. Why not head to Perth for a night of nostalgia and dancing? Perth Concert Hall is less than 15 minutes’ walk from the station.
