Keep the youngsters busy with this purse-friendly itinerary
There's not too long left of the summer break, so some of you may be running out of ideas on how to entertain the kids. We're here to help!
We’ve created a kid friendly ‘Destination Decider’ which is packed with fun things to do across Scotland’s central belt. The summer holidays can be an expensive time but remember that two kids can travel free with each paying adult on ScotRail's Kids Go Free tickets. What's more, present your Kids Go Free rail ticket at any of the venues on our Destination Decider and you'll get free entry for one child , keeping your adventures even more purse-friendly.
Our Destination Decider can be downloaded below and has something to suit all interests. Animal lovers can choose from Edinburgh Zoo, Deep Sea World and Loch Lomond Sea Life Aquarium.
History hunters can go back in time at the Wallace Monument, Battle of Bannockburn and even The Edinburgh Dungeon. For those looking for a bit of fast paced action, you can Go Ape or go sledging at Glasgow Snow Factor.
The Destination Decider was created after we commissioned some research to understand how we could support parents during the holidays and found a key concern was the number of hours children were spending indoors, in front of screens.
Although 8 in 10 parents would prefer their child to spend more time outdoors, over a third of those polled said they found it difficult to encourage their child away from playing video games.
And so, our Destination Decider was created to encourage kids outside and into the great outdoors, experiencing all that is on offer and accessible by rail.
Enjoy and share your summer fun with us at @MyScotRail on Twitter and Instagram.
