As you all know, Valentine’s Day is known as a day to celebrate love.
Given the occasion, we thought we’d take the opportunity to share just a few of the things we love about Scotland’s Railway.
Our favourite view: Ben Lui
One of our favourite views is the mighty Ben Lui, as viewed from Dalmally station. With views like this, it’s no wonder Munro bagging is such a popular pastime across Scotland.

Our favourite bridge: Forth Bridge
Ah yes, the Forth Bridge, completed back in 1890. It is considered a symbol of Scotland and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It doesn’t matter how many times we cross the Forth Bridge by train (and that’s up to 140 times a day for us), we never tire of the view.

Our favourite place: West Highland Line
Stunning scenery is guaranteed when travelling by train on the West Highland Line - often described as one of the most scenic rail journeys in the world. Whizzing through the scenery, sandwiched between the most beautiful Munros, you can’t help but fall in love with the views on offer.

Our favourite train: Pride
We love all of our trains, but our Pride of ScotRail train holds a special place in our hearts. Created by our own staff LGBTQ+ and allies network, and designed by our talented team, it’s a visual reminder that we won’t tolerate bigotry or discrimination on our trains. Scotland’s Railway is for everyone. Not seen it yet? Don’t worry, it will be here for the next six years!

Our favourite station: Glasgow Queen Street
We really do love all our stations, but it’s the golden glow of our newly refurbished Glasgow Queen Street station which puts it to the top of our list!

Our favourite furry friends: Loki the dog
It’s fair to say, we love all animals travelling across the railway. From everybody’s favourite helpers on the social media hot desk, to the famous ‘Wee Coo’ who tried to take a trip on one of our trains, there are just too many to narrow it down. But just how adorable is this golden pooch, Loki, posing infront of our favourite Bridge?!

Our favourite moment under Central Stations clock: Blaal and Zahra’s Grand Central wedding
It’s known as the place to meet! The majority of people who have grown up in Glasgow have a story to tell about meeting a loved one under Glasgow Central's station clock. Back in 2019, we saw Blaal and Zahra’s entourage heading to the Grand Central Hotel where they chose to get married. How romantic!

So there you have it, just a few of our favourite things from across Scotland’s Railway. From the stunning views and UNESCO World Heritage sites, to the furry friends of Scotland’s Railway, there’s truly something for everyone to fall in love with.
