Welcome to the Class 385 experience. Enjoy smoother, quieter, quicker journeys. Feel good about doing your bit for the environment – they’re 18% more energy efficient than our old trains. Arrive relaxed having spent the journey doing what you want, whether that be using the free Wi-Fi, charging your phone, working hard or simply enjoying a spot of window-gazing.

We’ve super-charged some of our services by trainsforming them completely to the new 385 trains:

Glasgow to Edinburgh (via Falkirk High)
Glasgow to Stirling/Dunblane/Alloa
Edinburgh to Stirling/Dunblane/Alloa

In addition to the above services, which will only run the new 385 trains, you will find some services that are partly operated by a 385:

North Berwick to Edinburgh
Edinburgh to Glasgow via Shotts
The Cathcart Circle
Glasgow to Lanark

These new electric trains are helping us build the best railway Scotland has ever had. They're part of a £475 million investment programme from ScotRail, and major investment by the Scottish Government and Network Rail which has seen the electrification of the main line between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
