eXpress your love

The train I’d like to couple up with is… the Class 385 eXpress. Because it’s smooth, quiet, good-looking and runs like a dream.

Put the electricity back into your relationship and whisk your other half away for a fabulous day out in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. Go Dutch with us, you pay half, we’ll pay the other half.

On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 February, we’re injecting some love onto the E&G by offering two for one travel. Just think of what you could do with the money saved… a bouquet of flowers, a nice restaurant or even just a box of chocolates to share, snuggled on the sofa when you get back home.

All you have to do to feel the love is fill in the form online to receive your voucher. You then take that along with you when you travel and your Valentine enjoys a free ride.

Valid all day on both days, you can travel between the two cities in as little as 42 minutes to enjoy a romantic Valentine’s Day out. With plenty to enjoy in both cities, and some fabulous restaurants and cafes to indulge in too, it’s bound to be a memorable day out.

The offer is valid on all ticket types. So, if you buy a single ticket, you get another single ticket free, buy a return, get a return ticket free. And if you’re feeling extra generous the offer applies to First Class too.

There’s a massive 10,000 free seats available – so what are you waiting for?

Can I take the kids with a Kids for a Quid ticket?

No problem, spread the love to your kids and take them along with you for £1 return each. Just ask for a Kids for a Quid ticket at the booking office. You can take up to four kids with one paying adult.

Finally, once on board, sit back and bask in their admiration of your generosity and use the pennies you’ve saved for a treat at your destination.

By leaving the car at home and taking the train, you’re showing your love for the environment too. The Class 385 eXpress trains that run on the route are 60% more carbon efficient than the Class 170s that they replaced last year.

If you’re looking for ideas of things to do once you get there, take a look at suggestions on our blog . Simply type 'Edinburgh' or 'Glasgow' into the search bar.

Have a fantastic Valentine’s weekend!
