The Floyd Effect

The Floyd Effect - “The Pink Floyd Show”

_The music of Pink Floyd as it was meant to be experienced._

They Told Us What to Dream

_Pink Floyd’s two most important albums, complete and unabridged… and more._

There are tribute bands and then there are tribute bands… With members who have worked with the likes of David Bowie, Janet Jackson, Jon Bon Jovi, Brian Adams and Keith Emerson, and others who have performed on Broadway and in the Royal Albert Hall, The Floyd Effect isn’t just a bunch of enthusiasts who love the music of Pink Floyd, it’s a band of the highest calibre that loves the music of Pink Floyd. Following its Dark Side Of Reason tour (which, despite being interrupted by the pandemic, sold out in theatres up and down the country) The Floyd Effect will be returning in 2023/24 with its most ambitious tour to date: They Told Us What to Dream. This highlights not one, but two complete Pink Floyd albums – indeed, the two that are considered by legions of their fans to be the band’s most important works. After kicking off the evening with some classic tracks from other albums in the Pink Floyd canon, The Floyd Effect will perform the whole of Wish You Were Here, something that has rarely (if ever) been heard in recent years. The second set will then feature a complete, unbroken performance of perhaps the greatest album of all time, Dark Side Of The Moon, as well as some other tracks lovingly recreated from Pink Floyd’s acclaimed live shows. The timing of this concert is not an accident. It’s exactly fifty years since Dark Side Of The Moon was released, yet it remains as relevant today as it ever was. From its instantly recognisable introduction to the iconic heartbeat that closes the album, it speaks to people across three generations like no other music from the past five decades. The Floyd Effect is renowned for the remarkable accuracy with which it performs the music of Pink Floyd, and the band faithfully recreates the sound and intensity of a Pink Floyd concert without recourse to racks of computers and other technological wizardry. Each performance is a genuine ‘live’ event supported by a dramatic light show that incorporates the iconic circular screen together with two sets of projections that make it a powerful and emotional experience. Sit back and enjoy The Floyd Effect as the band takes you on a journey through the most revered music ever written and performed by Pink Floyd. Unless you were there the first time around, it was never as real as this.

The Floyd Effect are a band you NEED to see live. Check out their website and get to see them this year. You will be blown away.

The Floyd Effect are not only the best tribute band we have ever seen, they are the best band we have ever seen.

As a show this was as good as it gets. The timing, delivery and recreation of the Floyd sound was faultless, and many tracks took me to places I had forgotten existed as the sound washed over me.

Thought we'd give Aussie Floyd a miss this year and come to see you guys instead. I have to tell you, we were blown away. Note perfect for nearly three hours. Excellent musicianship, what a voice, and your ladies, spot on.

We couldn't get over what brilliant musicians you all are and the girls, well... wow, what can I say!! Credit where it's due, you're all fabulous!! Unbelievable! I heard The Floyd Effect for the first time last night. To say I was blown away would be an understatement. Terrific music brilliantly performed reducing me to tears. I did not ever expect to hear this wonderful music performed live in this way.

Thank you for a truly fabulous evening. Unforgettable.

I’ve been a Floyd fan all my life and tonight's performance was as good as, if not better than, listening to the original albums.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Pitch perfect. Very entertaining and indistinguishable from the original band. Very talented musicians, with a superb light show. They raised the roof. Oh... and the backing singers' solos were off the scale.

Best tribute band I've seen, and I've seen the lot.

I was totally blown away by your concert tonight. I have seen other tribute Floyd bands but you guys were amazing and funny as well! Just a total fabulous show. I felt I was having my own concert with the real Floyd, no lies! Girls' voices outstanding! Three hours - how did you do it?

I had the good fortune to see the original Pink Floyd twice. The Floyd Effect are as good as the original line up and, with the intimacy of the venue, it’s like being in the front row. They were stupendous. I would urge any Floyd fan to make the effort to see them. You will be elated.
