Set in 82 acres of sloping parkland, Edinburgh Zoo is home to over 1,000 rare and beautiful animals. Get closer than ever before as you come face to face with the Sumatran tigers in their enlarged enclosure -- Tiger Tracks, or witness the world famous Penguin Parade featuring the knighted penguin, Sir Nils Olav. Wee Beasties is home to a number of exciting species including reptiles, amphibians and insects. And to make the most out of your visit, take part in one of the workshops or the keepers’ experience. The Zoo holds various special -- sometimes after hours -- events throughout the year such as The Kiltwalk, The Zoo Careers Day, The Lantern Festival or The Bricklive Ocean.There are also children’s play areas, restaurants and picnic spots to make your visit complete.
