Engineering work is taking place between Glasgow and Edinburgh via Carstairs / Shotts, closing all lines.

Saturday:

Glasgow Central to Edinburgh via Shotts:

Trains will run between Carfin and Edinburgh only.

Rail replacement buses will run between Glasgow Central and Shotts.

If you are travelling from Edinburgh to Glasgow Central you should change at Shotts for a rail replacement bus for stations beyond Carfin.

Glasgow Central to Edinburgh via Carstairs:

All trains will be replaced by a bus throughout.

Minibuses will run between Edinburgh and Kirknewton calling at Haymarket, Slateford, Kingsknowe, Wester Hailes and Curriehill in both directions, this connects at Kirknewton with a larger bus going onwards to either Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Sunday:

Trains between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh via Shotts will have amended arrival / departure times at Glasgow Central.
