ScotRail adds extra seats for must-win Euro 2020 qualifier

ScotRail is adding extra carriages to its trains to help fans cheer on Scotland in their Euro 2020 qualifying fixture this weekend.

The national team face San Marino in a must-win game at Hampden Park on Sunday, 13 October at 5pm.

ScotRail will be adding carriages to trains to and from Glasgow and Mount Florida - the closest station to Hampden Park – as well as on trains to Perth after the final whistle.

Queuing systems may be in place at Glasgow Central before the match, and at Mount Florida station afterwards.

Fans are being advised to head back to Mount Florida as quickly as possible after the game finishes and join the queues on Bolton Drive as trains are expected to be busy.

To help ensure customers arrive at the game on time, they should allow extra time for travel – as well as purchasing tickets to Mount Florida in advance.

An alcohol ban will be in place on trains between Glasgow and Mount Florida, and as with most special events, ScotRail will have extra staff on the ground to help.

ScotRail Head of Customer Operations Phil Campbell said:

“We’re looking forward to helping supporters travel to the game to cheer on our national team.

“To help the event run smoothly, we’re adding extra carriages to services to and from Hampden.

“But trains will be busier than normal, so customers should plan ahead. Check your train times on our website or mobile app and allow extra time for travel.”
