Have you lost something?

‘Look before you leave’ is the message
Left/forgotten items are found on trains every day

There’s someone out there tonight who’s sleeping minus their cosy duvet. There are countless people without their mobile phones, at least one girl’s not got her full make-up kit and an undercover agent must have kept the secret state documents but forgotten the wooden attache case they were held in…

Alongside these curios, the following items have also been left on trains and in stations over the past three months:

  • skateboards
  • a horse’s head (plastic)
  • an synthetic wig that Dolly Parton would be proud of
  • bags of new clothes neatly folded
  • purses, wallets
  • cash
  • property and vehicle keys
  • soft and cuddly toys
  • enough gloves, scarves and brollies to stock an M&S store!

The duty of responsibility for belongings lies with the owner. While the ScotRail Alliance will do its best to reunite customers with any items handed in to the store, the message is ‘Look before you leave’ as you alight trains or use station facilities as losing personal items is inconvenient and can be distressing.

Anyone who thinks their lost or forgotten item may be in the Lost Property store at Queen Street Station is asked to call 03301 092 833.

The rail operator is running a week-long light-hearted #LookBeforeYouLeave campaign on social media to highlight some of the items that are in the store with the hope of reuniting them with their owners.
